As announced in our previous newsletter, Florence Heri-Tech returns to Florence from 26 to 30 April.
This event is dedicated to technologies applied to cultural heritage, to diagnostics, conservation, and to the valorisation of cultural assets.
Art-Test has always strongly believed in this specific objective: fostering dialogue between technology developers and those who apply these innovations in the field. Our daily collaboration with countless restorers, combined with our ongoing engagement with research, has allowed us to present to scientific confernce a wide range of contributions over the years—reflecting the diversity of our work.
This year, the paper we will present—and which will be published by Springer—is the result of a Master’s thesis work by Matilde Leogrande, a student of the University of Florence, for which we served as advisors.
The study focuses on “pastels”, a little-studied yet particularly fascinating technique. We will demonstrate how diagnostic investigations and the archives of artists’ material manufacturers can be invaluable—both for authentication, potential attribution, and the conservation process.
We can’t reveal more just yet, but we look forward to seeing you in Florence at the Fortezza da Basso, in the halls adjacent to those hosting the 10th edition of the Art and Restoration Fair and the 90th edition of the Craftsmanship Exhibition—all taking place during the same days.
Three great reasons not to miss it!
