Join the 5th Edition of Florence Heri-Tech

Jan 27, 2026 | Highlights, Restoration

From 26 to 30 April 2026, the fifth edition of Florence Heri-Tech returns to Florence. The conference is dedicated to technologies applied to cultural heritage, diagnostics, conservation, and the enhancement of cultural assets. This edition introduces several important innovations, designed to broaden participation and strengthen dialogue between research, innovation, and restoration practice.

One of the conference’s long-standing strengths has been the publication of selected contributions in Springer volumes, ensuring high-quality dissemination of the presented results. This feature will be maintained in the 2026 edition.

Compared to previous editions, Florence Heri-Tech takes a further step this year toward closer integration with the community of restorers, taking advantage of its concurrent scheduling with the Salone dell’Arte e del Restauro, held on the same days (with access also to 90 Years of MIDA | Celebration of the International Craft Exhibition).

The goal is clear: to foster a more direct exchange of ideas, experiences, and professional languages between those who develop advanced technologies and methodologies and those who apply them on a daily basis in the field.

The deadline for abstract submission is 18 February 2026.

Authors will be able to present their work either in person or online. While direct, face-to-face interaction remains the preferred format, the organizers acknowledge that travel may not always be possible. For this reason, online contributions will also be accepted, ensuring that difficulties in attending in person do not become an insurmountable barrier to the circulation of knowledge.

Another important development is the introduction of a symbolic registration fee for auditors. This option is intended to make Florence Heri-Tech even more accessible, offering professionals in the field the opportunity to attend the sessions, learn about innovative projects, and engage with a growing multidisciplinary community.

The fifth edition of Florence Heri-Tech thus confirms itself not only as an opportunity for scientific and technological updating, but also as an open forum for discussion, where diverse expertise can meet and contribute to shaping new perspectives and skills for the future of cultural heritage conservation.
